Impact Property Services Ltd
A voluntary and not for profit organisation with many years experience of working with our local community, especially vulnerable people. Delivering good quality, effective community programmes and accommodation for people from all backgrounds and cultures.
Our Journey: Transforming Lives Since 1998
In January 1998, we recognized a growing crisis in our community: many young adults were facing homelessness or the threat of losing their homes. In response, Bradford Council partnered with us to lease a five-storey block of flats in Little Horton, Bradford 5, an area that needed revitalization.
This building had seen better days. Often overlooked, it was in disrepair, frequently vandalized, and misused by local drug dealers. However, we saw potential where others did not.
That summer, we launched a comprehensive renovation project, transforming the space into a safe and welcoming environment. With the help of dedicated volunteers—including some of the first young residents—this block underwent a remarkable transformation.
We refurbished the entrance and stairways, converted two ground-floor flats into offices, and created a communal area for residents and community projects. The upper floors were revamped into modern, high-quality apartments designed specifically for young adults in need.
Our efforts did not go unnoticed. In 1998, we received a regional award from the National Housing and Town Planning Council for our innovative approach to supporting homeless youth. The following year, we were honored with a National Housing Award from the Chartered Institute of Housing for our commitment to tackling social exclusion.
Today, Impact has expanded its reach, operating multiple schemes across the North of England, providing quality supported accommodation to those who need it most. Together, we continue to make a difference, one life at a time.
Impact Living Charity (formerly Impact Young Heroes)
Nissar Bahadur was a trainee in administration and finance at Impact. He was a talented, thoughtful, and hardworking young man who left a lasting impression on everyone he interacted with, both professionally and personally.
To everyone’s horror, Nissar was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in November 2004 and he sadly passed away in February 2005 aged just 19 years old. His final wish was for Impact to support other people in a similar situation.
Impact discovered a significant gap in service provision for those personally suffering from a terminal condition but also for those caring for a parent, guardian, or sibling facing a life-threatening disease.
In 2008, Impact Living Charity was established to provide support and respite for people with terminal illnesses. During our first few years of operation, we identified the need to expand our services to include mental health support. Working in partnership with Impact Property Services the charity now offers specialised menal health support to those people who need it most.
